Kentucky’s Labor Cabinet conducted five free on-site consultative surveys during December 2017, resulting in the correction of 62 violations, saving employers $434,000 in fines and penalties. The Labor Cabinet’s Division of Occupational Safety & Health Education & Trainings provides free consultative surveys to employers in an effort to increase workplace safety by improving injury and illness rates. Employers who make use of the Division’s consultative surveys do not face penalties unless violations are not corrected.
