Two Arrested in Laurel County Following Theft Investigation

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals on Monday, January 8, 2018 following a theft investigation. The arrests occurred after an investigation was conducted into the theft of an Apple iPad and money was taken from a motel in Laurel County. Information was developed on the suspects and some of the stolen property was located. Cynthia Marie Mobley, age 43, of London, was charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500. James Smith, 37, also of London, was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000. Smith told investigators he traded pills and methamphetamine for the iPad. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
