The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office investigated a traffic fatality that occurred on Monday, January 15, 2018. The accident occurred on KY 1394 at the intersection of Farris Jones Road around 3:17pm. Investigators report that apparently a Kawasaki dirt bike was traveling southbound on Farris Jones Road and crossed into the path of a Ford F-250 pickup traveling eastbound on KY 1394, colliding with the left rear fender. The dirt bike came to rest on the roadway and the truck came to rest partially on the roadway. The driver of the dirt bike, identified as Jacob Brothers, 25 of East Bernstadt, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital London where he was pronounced deceased a short time later with fatal injuries.  The driver and passenger of the pickup, identified as Sammie and Teresa Tyra of East Bernstadt, were reportedly uninjured.
