East Kentucky Science Center Awarded Earth and Space Toolkit

Big Sandy Community and Technical College’s East Kentucky Science Center has received notice that they have been awarded an “Explore Science: Earth & Space” physical toolkit from The Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network. In collaboration with NASA, the NISE Network has assembled these sets of engaging, hands-on Earth and space science experiences with connections to science, technology, and society. The kits contain over a dozen hands-on activities, packaged as “classroom sets” for informal settings, materials for hosting special events, educator training materials, and professional resources to assist with partnership planning and implementation. The East Kentucky Science Center is one of three science center in the state to be awarded these kits. The science center will partner with the Floyd County Library System to bring these hands-on science lessons to the community via outreach programs at the library.
