On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, around 1:53am, Kentucky State Police Trooper Kyle Trosper was patrolling Interstate 75 southbound near the 34-mile marker when he observed a 2016 Nissan box truck driving recklessly. An attempt to stop the vehicle was made, which led to a pursuit that ended at a BP fuel station off the interstate. The driver, identified as 25-year-old Dontevious Holmes of Stone Mountain, Georgia, was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with evading police and wanton endangerment, along with several other traffic charges. Holmes was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
