On Monday, January 22, 2018 around 6pm, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle accident involving a coal truck and passenger car at the intersection of US 23 and Kentucky Route 201. A witness at the scene said the passenger car was stopped along the southbound lane of US 23. The coal truck had tried to avoid the accident, but the car reversed into its path, striking the trailer. The driver of the passenger car, who is unidentified, was transported to Paul B. Hall Medical Center for minor injuries.
