Knox County Deputies Pursue Man Wanted on Indictment Warrant

On Monday, January 29, 2018, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office executed an indictment warrant at a residence on Buckeye Branch in the Big Creek area of Stinking Creek. The subject of the warrant, Adam Messer, 32, was indicted on January 26, 2018 for burglary, theft, criminal trespassing and persistent felony offender. When deputies arrived at the residence, Messer fled on foot into the surrounding mountains. After a lengthy foot pursuit, the subject was apprehended. A sawed off shotgun was also found at the residence. In addition to the indictment charges, Messer was charged with fleeing police, resisting arrest, wanton endangerment, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
