Two owners of a Hixson, Tennessee pain clinic, and two physicians working at the clinic, were indicted Thursday, February 8, 2018 on charges of conspiracy to illegally distribute prescription narcotics in Eastern Kentucky. The owners of Tennessee Pain Institute, Anwar Mithavayani, 54, and Pete Tyndale, 46, both of South Florida, along with physicians Timothy Gowder, 70, of Oak Ridge, and Gary Moore, 66, of Ooltewah, were named in the indictment, which also charged the four with money laundering. The indictment alleges the drug trafficking conspiracy resulted in a death. Additionally, two Kentucky residents, James Bradley Combs, 40 of Woodbine, and Larry Karr, 73 of Keavy, were charged for their alleged roles in the offenses. The trial is currently scheduled for April 30, 2018.
