The Hazard Police Department arrested a suspect for suspected purse snatching the morning of Friday, February 16, 2018. The incident occurred in the parking lot of  Wal-Mart, where the suspect then proceeded to the Murphy’s Gas Station in the Daniel Boone Plaza. Deputy Chief Joseph Engle proceeded to the scene where he located the suspect, identified as Andrew Neace of Vancleve. Security video showed Neace attempting to take the purse from the victim’s hands before he left the scene. Neace was arrested and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail and faces additional charges from Breathitt County.
