The Knox County Sheriff’s Department made an arrest after receiving a call from a burglary victim in Laurel County on Sunday, February 25, 2018. The victim had information that his stolen property was at a residence on Youngs Creek Road in Corbin in Knox County. Items taken from the burglary, including a gas operated auger, chain saw, leaf blower, skill saw and grinder, were recovered. There were also several stolen items located inside a vehicle belonging to Tommy Thompson. Thompson, 38, was charged with receiving stolen property, public intoxication, and impersonating a Peace Officer. A second individual, 34-year-old Michael Young, also of Corbin, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. Both were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
