Around 4:30pm Wednesday, February 28, 2018, the Kentucky State Police Post 11 London was notified by the Rockcastle County 911 of a residential structure fire with a fatality at a residence located on Bowling Ridge Road in the Brodhead community. Upon arrival, KSP Arson Investigator Brian Lewis discovered 79-year-old James Brummett deceased inside the residence. Preliminary investigation indicates the fire to be accidental.
