A Knott County woman was killed the afternoon of Tuesday, February 27, 2018 following a single car crash. First responders were called to the collision site on Highway 582 in the Pine Top community at around 1:45pm. Kentucky State Police, Knott County Sheriff’s Office, Tran Star Ambulance, and Carr Fork Fire Department all responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation determined that Christopher Williams, 31 of Kite, was operating a 1992 Cadillac STS on KY 582, when the car went off the roadway and overturned into a creek. Julie Hall, 34, also of Kite, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Knott County Coroner Jeff Blair. Williams was treated for minor injuries at the scene by EMS, but was not transported to a medical facility. An infant passenger, who was restrained in a child safety seat, was uninjured. Toxicology results for Williams are pending.
