A juvenile was taken into custody at Betsy Layne High School on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, around 1:45pm. Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputies and school officials received information that a juvenile and former student may be on his way to school, possibly armed. The School Resource Officer and school officials responded quickly and were able to locate the juvenile in the parking lot. Deputies used their K9 Drago to search the vehicle which resulted in finding a handgun, ammunition, scales, a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia. The juvenile was arrested and transported to a juvenile detention facility.
