Betsy Layne and Prestonsburg High Schools Place in Top 5 of Regional Science Olympiad

The Regional Science Olympiad competition was held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the University of Pikeville. Betsy Layne High Schools placed as runner up, with Prestonsburg High School’s Alpha and Omega teams placing 3rd and 5th. Science Olympiad competitions consist of teams of 15 individual students who participate in a variety of events that require certain skill sets. Each year, certain events change to keep up with changes in various fields. Teamwork is crucial and students must be actively participating.
