A single vehicle accident occurred in Knox County on Sunday, March 11, 2018 around 12:18am. The accident occurred on KY 223 near Binghamtown Cemetery. Deputy Andrew Lawson responded to the scene, where he observed a maroon Chevrolet pickup truck turned over on its side over an embankment off the roadway. The driver and passenger were treated for injuries at the scene before being transported to Barbourville ARH, then UK Medical Center in Lexington. The female occupant was later pronounced dead at the UK Medical Center. The identity of both individuals is being withheld pending notification of family.
