A Laurel County man was sentenced on Tuesday, March 6, 2017 for methamphetamine trafficking. Dustin Higginbotham, 33, of London, was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Higginbotham pleaded guilty to the charges in July of 2017. During his guilty plea, he admitted he possessed more than 50 grams of actually methamphetamine that he intended to distribute. These charges were related to the execution of search warrant at Higginbotham’s residence, during which law enforcement officers recovered 564.6 grams of 100% pure methamphetamine. Following his prison sentence, he will serve 10 years probation.
