A fatal traffic crash occurred in Laurel County on Thursday, March 22, 2018 around 4:47pm. Kentucky State Police Post 11 London responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 near the 33 mile marker. Preliminary investigation determined that a 2017 Ford Explorer operated by KSP Vehicle Enforcement Officer Christopher McQueen, 33, of Corbin, collided with a 1995 Cadillac Eldorado, operated by John D. McQueen, 85, of London, who was previously parked on the right hand shoulder of the roadway. John McQueen had attempted to make an illegal left hand turn across northbound lanes. John McQueen was pronounced dead at the scene. Officer McQueen and his passenger, 55-year-old Mary Reed, were transported to Saint Joseph Hospital in London for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
