A Laurel County Man was arrested for shoplifting and illegal possession of EBT card on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Jonathan Day, 34, of Corbin, was detained at Walmart near Corbin around 9:13pm by Walmart’s loss prevention team. When deputies arrived at the scene, they conducted an investigation and learned the subject attempted to leave the store without paying for items. It was additionally determined that this subject was under the influence and in possession of an EBT card that did not belong to him. Day was charged with theft by unlawful taking, public intoxication and knowingly fraudulently using ID card or electronic code for benefits. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
