A crash involving three vehicle claimed the life of a Berea, KY man the evening of Friday, March 23, 2018. Kentucky State Police Post 13 received a call just after 6pm advising of a three car collision near the Perry and Leslie County line on the Hal Rogers Parkway. KSP personnel responded to the scene along with Perry County EMS. Upon arrival, first responders observed that one fo the vehicles involved was on fire and the occupant inside appeared to be deceased. Initial investigation determined that Brent Collins, 44, of Berea, was traveling westbound in a 2005 Toyota Corolla when he collided with a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe head-on while attempting to pass a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. Collins’s vehicle redirected into the truck. The driver of the Tahoe, Sheila Watts, and the driver of the S-10, Katrina Sexton, were transported to Hazard ARH for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Tahoe was also treated and released. Collins was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. Toxicology results are pending.
