Road work to repair two embankment failures on KY 292 in Martin County began on Monday, April 2, 2018, and will continue all week. The site is between mile points 15 and 16, the straight stretch before Warfield Elementary School. Motorists are advised to use another route due to long traffic delays. Beginning Tuesday, April 3, the contractor will have two drilling rigs on site. The drilling process on each piece of steel can take up to 30 minutes or more, according to Brittany Ball of Highway District 12’s Prestonsburg Section Office. Contractors are expected to begin work at 8am and work into the evening.
