Governor Matt Bevin has proclaimed that US and state flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise Wednesday, April 4, 2018 until sunset on Thursday, April 5, 2018 as a mark of respect for fallen Hopkinsville Police Department Officer Phillip Meacham. Governor Bevin urged Kentuckians to join in honoring the life of the fallen police officer. Meacham was killed while off-duty on Thursday, March 29 in Hopkinsville after being pulled over by a man impersonating a police officer. He leaves behind a wife and nine-year-old daughter.
