A Laurel County man was arrested on animal cruelty charges Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Deputy Josh Scott responded to the complaint at a residence on Keavy Road. Upon arrival, the deputy located two dogs tied outside a camper trailer. The dogs appeared to be malnourished and in poor health. The accused subject did not have any dog food. Deputy Scott was unable to locate any dishes or other evidence that would indicate the dogs had recently been fed or watered. Jessie Jones, 32, was charged with cruelty to animals and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. The dogs were taken into possession by animal control.
