The victim in a Wise County Virginia shooting has succumbed to his injuries. The shooting occurred on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at a building owned by Savage Services Corporation in the St. Paul community. When St. Paul Police Officers arrived at the scene on Russell Creek Road, they discovered a male subject with gunshot wounds to his upper extremities. The shooter, identified as Larry Leon Fields, 68, was taken into custody and charged with reckless handling of a firearm and aggravated malicious wounding. The victim, whose identity has not been released, died of his wounds on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
