The Ashland-Boyd County Health Department is investigating a suspected case of hepatitis A with a food worker at Ken’s Express Mart on 29th Street. Health Department Director Maria Hardy said Boyd County has had over 20 cases since August 2017, the second highest in the commonwealth. The window of exposure at Ken’s Express Mart is between March 22 and April 7. If you think you have been exposed, contact your doctor or the health department. The health department is currently offering free hepatitis A vaccines.
