New Veterans Business Law Passes

On Monday, April 9, 2018, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, accompanied by numerous veterans organizations, received House Bill 319, a new veterans business law known as “Boots to Business,’ an initiative she has championed for the past three years. “Boots to Business” waives business filing fees for entrepreneurs who are veterans or active-duty military service members. The businesses will not be liable for original filing fees or annual report filing fees for the next four years of business. The initiative will take effect in late June 2018.
