Appalachian Regional Healthcare and KentuckyOne Health announced on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 that a definitive agreement has been signed for the purchase of Saint Joseph Martin and its four rural health clinics in Floyd County. The purchase is expected to close by June 30th and ARH will take over operations of the facilities on July 1st. The 25-bed Saint Joseph Martin hospital will operate under the new name, “ARH Our Lady of the Way Hospital,” and will become the 12th member of the ARH system, which is consistently recognized for medical excellence and covers communities throughout southeastern Kentucky and southern West Virginia. Joe Grossman, ARH President and CEO, said as the region’s largest integrated health system, it has been ARH’s mission to provide all residents of eastern Kentucky and southern West Virginia with local access to the medical services they need and are proud to have Saint Joseph Martin on the team. Kathy Stumbo, president of St Joseph Martin said she is transferred with the transfer of ownership to ARH, and said its vision for the future ensures a continued commitment to Martin through engaging clinical care providers, employees and community partners.
