Perry County Sheriff’s Office Recognized for Efforts to Combat Illegal Animal Abuse

On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, the Perry County Sheriff’s Department received recognition for their ongoing partnership with the Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter. Perry County Sheriff Les Burgett received recognition from the Human Society of the United States and the National Sheriff’s Association for efforts in combating illegal animal abuse. In addition, the Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter individually awarded Chief Deputy Tony Eversoles and Sgt. Ruey Couch with the 2017 Humane Hero Award.
