Governor Matt Bevin has appointed a Pike County man to the Kentucky Emergency Response Commission. Douglas Tackett, of Pikeville, is director of Pike County Emergency Management. He will represent persons with technical expertise in the emergency response field and serve for a term expiring April 17, 2020. The Kentucky Emergency Response Commission is charged with developing policies related to the response of state and local governments to releases of hazardous substances and developing standards of planning for these events. The group provides information to the public concerning hazardous substances within communities, as well as develop training and requirements for hazardous substance response.
