On Monday, April 23, 2018, Toyota is unveiling the new 2019 Avalon at its Georgetown, Kentucky plant, a vehicle full of new technology and other state of the art improvements. The fifth generation Avalon is built on Toyota’s new global architecture manufacturing platform, Toyota’s only US Vehicle plant using it thanks to a recent one and a third billion dollar investment at Georgetown. That allows for more flexibility and creativity. Plant president Susan Elkington says the new Avalon demonstrates Toyota’s commitment to American manufacturing. Elkington adds the new Avalon has two dedicated spots plus models and two more luxurious sedans. She says a new suspension system improves control and handling, which provides a marriage between luxury and sportiness. There are two new powertrains and the only full hybrid among mid-size luxury sedans.
