The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals at a Walmart near Corbin on Saturday, April 21, 2018. The arrests occurred around 5:15pm after Walmart’s loss prevention team detained two subjects who allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise. Wanda Messer, 30, of Girdler, and Patricia Hatton, 32, of London, were charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500. Messer’s theft allegedly totaled $265.28, and Hatton’s theft allegedly totaled $45.99. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
