Former Prestonsburg Mayor Jerry Fannin has entered an Alford Plea in his case of being accused of using city funds for personal use. The plea was entered in federal court on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. In an Alford Plea, a defendant does not admit guilt, but concedes there is enough evidence to convict them. Fannin’s attorney Ned Pillersdorf said that the defendant is unable to remember the actions he has been accused of due to a series of strokes. Fannin is currently scheduled to be sentenced on August 16, 2018.
