On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, around 1:30am, Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a complaint concerning a suspicious white S-10 sitting outside of the Wildcat Grocery in the Flat Gap community. Deputies Jerry Wiley and Lauren O’Bryan made contact with a male subject, identified as Homer Dale Castle, sitting in the driver’s seat. Deputy Wiley noticed signs of impairment while talking with Castle. When asked if he had anything illegal on him, the subject said no and consented to a search of the vehicle. Deputies noticed a white, powdery substance on Castle’s clothes as he exited the vehicle. A search uncovered a needle in a jacket pocket, as well as a bag full of needles in a backpack. A loose pill and a baggy containing a white crystal substance was also discovered. Castle was arrested and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
