A Franklin Circuit Court judge has denied Governor Matt Bevin’s motion to disqualify Attorney General Andy Beshear from a pension reform lawsuit. The action occurred on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Bevin sought to disqualify Beshear on the grounds that he gave legislators legal advice regarding the pension reform bill. The judge denied the motion and said the attorney general acted ethically. In a statement release by Beshear, he said the ruling recognizes him as the people’s lawyer and that it is his duty to fight on behalf of public servants.
