Warmer temperatures mean bear activity is on the rise in Kentucky. According to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, complaints about bears raiding garbage are on the rise as well, with hungry animals looking for an easy meal. The department suggests securing garbage until local pickup times. Additionally, they suggest only feeding outside pets what they will eat in one sitting and not leaving pet food out overnight, removing birdfeeders in spring and summer, keeping grills clean, and throwing food scraps in the trash.
