A Cincinnati physician has been convicted of illegally distributing oxycodone pills. On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 61-year-old Alan Arnold Godofsky was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison and a fine of $500,000. Testimony at his trial revealed that Godofsky was hired as a locum tenes physician at the Central Kentucky Bariatric and Pain Management clinic in Georgetown, where he wrote prescriptions for primarily oxycodone pills. According to testimony at trial, he conducted minimal exams, spending little time with patients, before prescribing large quantities of oxycodone pills. During his employment, he prescribed in excess of 500,000 oxycodone pills.
