On Friday, April 27, 2018, around 7:30pm, Kentucky State Police Trooper Brandon Burton, along with officers from the Mt. Sterling Police Department and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies, initiated a traffic stop on North Maysville Road in Mt. Sterling. As a result of the stop, Trooper Burton arrested 44-year-old Robert May of Owingsville on a charge of trafficking in controlled substance. Trooper Burton located numerous prescription medications in the vehicle, with an estimated street value of $15,000. May was also charged for execution of a warrant by the Mt. Sterling Police Department, also for drug trafficking. He was lodged in the Montgomery County Regional Jail.
