Students, families, and donors joined together for the 18^th annual Celebration of Success recently held in the Varia Auditorium on the Mayo campus of Big Sandy Community and Technical College. The scholarship recipients were able to meet the donors who make their scholarships possible, as well as share stories of their success. John Newsome, a former US Marine, is working toward obtaining his Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degree. He said receiving the Alvin Reed Scholarship was a vote of confidence that he could achieve a degree.
