On Friday, April 27, 2018, around 11:16am, Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead was notified by Powell County Dispatch of a single vehicle fatal collision on the Mountain Parkway. Trooper Granter Faulkner, Powell County Sheriff’s Department, Powell County EMS and the Stanton Fire Department responded to the scene. Eudella Gabbard, age 78, of Booneville, was traveling westbound on the Mountain Parkway when she lost control of the vehicle, entered into the median, striking a culvert, and overturned. Ms. Gabbard was pronounced deceased at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Faulkner.
