Campton Man and Woman Arrested on Drug Charges

On Saturday, April 28, 2018, around 6:25pm, Kentucky State Police Trooper Matt Day was patrolling along Sandy Ridge Road in Wolfe County when he located a suspicious vehicle parked adjacent to the roadway. Trooper Day stopped to investigate, where he received consent to search the vehicle. A large amount of methamphetamine and prescription pills, as well as heroin and cash were located inside the vehicle. Trooper Day arrested Christopher Mays, 38, and Virginia Adkins, 44, both of Campton, and charged them with public intoxication, trafficking in controlled substance, possession of controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia. They were lodged in the Three Forks Regional Jail.
