On Wednesday, May 2, 2018, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by school officials concerning a threat that was made by a student at Black Mountain Elementary School. A juvenile student was taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Office and charged with terroristic threatening. The Court Designated Worked was contact and the juvenile was lodged in the Breathitt County Juvenile Detention Center. The case remains under investigation.
