On Wednesday, May 2, 2018, the Ashland Police Department Criminal Investigation Section received information that Ashley Jones, 30, who is wanted for murder in the Frankfort, KY area, had recently fled to Ashland to avoid capture. Further intelligence was gained and a search warrant was obtained for a location where Jones was staying. The Ashland Police Department Field Operations Division and Criminal Investigations Section along with the Boyd County Sheriff’s Department executed the search warrant and Jones was arrested without incident. During the arrest, she was in possession of synthetic marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms. Jones was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.
