Johnson County Deputies, Property Owner Interrupt Potential Theft in Progress

Around 11:45pm on Monday, May 7, 2018, Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with the property owner, interrupted a potential theft in progress. Deputies received a complaint about a suspicious noise coming from some work equipment owned by an individual identified by his last name, King. The property owner believed someone was stealing items that belonged to him. When deputies arrived, they heard at least one subject, possibly more, running into the hills. Suspects left their vehicle behind, which had King’s property. Deputies collected evidence at the scene and have identified possible suspects. The property was recovered and the vehicle was impounded. The case remains under investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
