During the early morning hours of Sunday, May 6, 2018, Prestonsburg Police Department Sergeant Austin King and Patrolman Joey Calhoun were on patrol when they observed a suspicious vehicle on the shoulder of the road near Big Branch of Bull Creek. As officers attempted to contact the occupants of the vehicle, they observed an attempt to conceal what appeared to be methamphetamine. Further investigation and search of the vehicle discovered more than 20 grams of methamphetamine and nearly $3000 in cash. Jessie Craft and Elizabeth Skeens, both of Prestonsburg, were arrested on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine. They were lodged in the Floyd County Jail.
