Big Sandy Community and technical College has started a new schedule option for adult learners to help them complete their Associate in Arts degree. The new hybrid schedule offers adults learned the ability to obtain their degree in 4-16 week semesters by only attending classes on Friday from 8:30am to 3pm. The adult learners can then complete the remainder of the coursework online. Myra Elliot, Dean of Academic Services, said they wanted to help provide an alternative schedule that fits into the busy lifestyles of many adult learners. The hybrid schedule will state in the fall semester with six courses. The first semester courses include: Math, Communications, First Year Experience, English, Biology and a Biology Lab.
