On Thursday, May 10, 2018, the Prestonsburg City Council held their strategic plan meeting at the Mountain Arts Center. The meeting discussed the completed plan for the city of Prestonsburg. Tad Long, with the Kentucky League of Cities, helped to develop the plan, which has been described as unique from that of other cities.  The three strategies to be implemented in the plan are economy, housing and create a reason to live here. Goals outlined in the plan include: deploying broad internet service throughout the city; focus on workforce and business development; address present and future housing needs of the city; and build a quality of life that serves the residents of Prestonsburg.
