Attorney General Andy Beshear is calling on federal lawmakers to vote this week to restore internet protections or net neutrality. The Federal Trade Commission announced on Thursday, May 10, that the Office of Management and Budget has reviewed and approved their rollback of net neutrality, which allows the repeal to take effect in 30 days once the OMB decision is published in the Federal Registry. The rule was published on Friday, May 11, 2018. Beshear and a coalition of state attorneys general have a lawsuit before the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, maintaining the FCC’s actions violate federal laws. Current consumer internet protections will expire on June 11, 2018.
