Bridge deck restoration and waterproofing on KY 114 in Floyd County is scheduled to begin work on Monday, May 14, 2018. The work will take place on two KY 114 bridges over CSX rail lines and the Levisa Fork at mile point 12. 364. These are the parallel bridges leading into downtown Prestonsburg at the T-intersection just past Archer Park. The contractor will start with traffic diverted to the passing lane on each bridge, switching to the right lane as work progresses. Twelve to thirteen-hour workdays are expected, with nighttime concrete pours. Motorists are advised to merge at the arrow boards and now wait until the last possible chance to get in the correct lane. Traffic on both bridges will be reduced to one lane and drivers may experience delays through the intersection.
