On Monday, May 14, 2018, Huntington Mayor Steve Williams named Hank Dial as the city’s next chief of police. Mayor Williams said Dial has implemented an ambitious law enforcement agenda that includes strengthening partnerships with federal and state law enforcement agencies. Chief Dial has served as interim chief of police since Joe Ciccarelli passed away in January 2018 after an extended illness. Dial is a 26-year veteran of the Huntington Police Department. The Huntington City Council will vote on the appointment during a meeting on Monday, May 21, 2018.
