One Fatality in Officer Involved Shooting in Harlan County

Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan Detectives are investigating an officer involved shooting incident that occurred at a residence on Country Estates Road in the Baxter community of Harlan County. Preliminary investigation indicates that around 2:45pm, two Troopers arrived at the residence on Country Estates Road investigating a complaint. Upon arrival, a male subject, later identified as 36-year-old Bradley Grant of Baxter, fled on foot inside the residence. Troopers pursued after Grant. As Troopers entered the residence, they were confronted by Grant, who had a shotgun in his possession and began walking towards both Troopers. The subject refused several loud verbal commands to drop his weapon. A trooper fired his weapon, striking Grant. He was transported to Harlan ARH Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
