Knox County Man Arrested for Threatening Police Through Hacked Facebook Account

On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office received a message through their Facebook page from an individual, identified as Tim Roark, stating he was going to kill all of the police officers in Knox County. Through investigation, it was determined that Roark did not have a device to post the message on Facebook. Roark state that a man identified as 35-year-old Emerson Johnson had hacked into his Facebook account and sent the message. After being located and interviewed, Johnson admitted to hacking Roark’s account, and a cell phone belong to Johnson was logged into Roark’s Facebook account. Emerson Johnson of Barbourville was arrested and charged with terroristic threatening and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
